Beginner’s Guide to Roulette

The holidays are in full swing and you’re feeling festive - maybe a Casino Night party is in order for a “party of one” in your own home! Put on those red satin pajamas you’ve been dying to wear, pour yourself an ice cold peppermint schapps martini and slip on your furry slippers. Now, simply download our free Playtech player and you’re ready for an exciting, glamorous game of roulette.

Never played the game? No worries - here are the basic tenets of the game:

* Roulette consists of a wheel with 38 numbered slots, numbered 1 to 36, 0 and 00.
* Players place bets on the layout with numbered red and black spaces that correspond to the numbers on the wheel as well as spaces for odd and even numbers
* The order of play begins when the croupier (dealer) rolls a small ball along a track into the roulette wheel
* You may place bets even after the ball has been begun to roll around the track of the wheel; however you should make your bets before the ball drops from the outside track into the center of the wheel
* The croupier will say “no more bets” when it is time to stop placing bets on numbers or colors
* Once the ball comes to rest, the croupier will call out the winning numbers and colors
* Bets can include a single number (straight up bet), two numbers (split bet), three numbers (street bet), corner bet (chip placed at intersection of four numbers), five number bet and six number bet (line bet)
